ThaiPo (thaipo.ai) is a translation bot that lives inside your LINE chats, operated by ThaiPo Labs in Thailand. This page explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. The short version: your chat history powers your bot's memory, it stays encrypted, you can delete it any time, and we never use one customer's chats to serve another.
What we collect
- Messages in chats where the bot is present. ThaiPo only sees chats you (or someone in your group) added it to. Every other LINE chat is invisible to us. This includes text, stickers, and voice notes.
- Voice notes. The audio file is kept for up to 24 hours so we can transcribe it, then deleted automatically. Only the transcript and its translation are kept, as part of the chat history.
- Images. When a chat turns on image translation, an image you send is kept for up to 24 hours so we can read the text in it, then deleted automatically. Only the text we extract and its translation are kept, as part of the chat history. Image translation is off by default and is enabled per chat.
- Videos. When a chat turns on video translation, a video you send is kept for up to 24 hours so we can understand what is said and shown in it, then deleted automatically. Only the written account of the video and its translation are kept, as part of the chat history. Video translation is off by default and is enabled per chat.
- Account details. When you sign up we store the email address and display name your sign-in provider (LINE, Google, or email) shares with us.
- Things you teach the bot. Corrections and glossary terms you add with /teach are saved as your chat's memory.
- Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your plan and subscription status; we never see or store card numbers.
- Operational data. Usage counters (for plan limits), and standard technical logs such as IP address and browser details when you use the website or contact form.
How we use it
- To translate your messages and post the translation in the chat.
- To build your per-chat memory: glossary terms, corrections, and recent conversation context that make translations better over time. This is the product.
- To fix our own mistakes. Keeping the history lets us re-run translations after we fix a bug and post corrections.
- To bill you, enforce plan limits, and answer support requests.
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we never use one customer's chats to translate or improve results for another.
AI processing
Messages, and text read from images, are processed by Anthropic's Claude models. Voice notes are transcribed, and videos are watched and described, by Google's Gemini models (the video's description is then translated by Claude). All of this runs under commercial API terms that do not permit those providers to train their models on your content.
Where your data lives
Everything is hosted on Fly.io in Singapore, encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments run through Stripe.
How long we keep it
Chat history is kept for as long as the chat is active, because memory is what you use ThaiPo for: deleting your history would lobotomise your bot. Voice audio, images, and videos are deleted within 24 hours. Short-lived operational copies (queues, caches, raw delivery buffers) expire within 7 days.
Your controls
- Stop collection any time: type /pause to mute the bot in a chat, or remove it from the chat entirely. Chats without the bot are never visible to us.
- Delete everything: deleting your account from the dashboard settings removes your account, your chats' memory, and the stored history. We honour deletion same-day.
- Delete one chat: contact us and we will remove a single chat's history and memory, same-day.
Group chats
When you add ThaiPo to a group, messages from everyone in that group are processed to provide translation. Please make sure the people in your group are okay with that before adding the bot.
Cookies
We use two functional cookies (one to keep you signed in, one to remember your language) and Google Analytics to understand how people find ThaiPo. Analytics is on by default; you can opt out any time from the notice at the bottom of any page, or by contacting us, and the site works exactly the same either way. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, ever.
Your rights
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and similar laws elsewhere, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us and we will sort it out.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the website.
